Tony is fifteen and doesn't want to go back to school. Despite showing terrific talent on the clarinet, he's rather get a job with his brother on a building-site. When a joyriding accident lands Tony in Lismore, a Dublin rehabilitation centre where he is sent to recover from severe head injuries, he meets Stephen, also fifteen, a gifted musician and composer who has a wasting disease.
